Company profile
The Showa Aluminium Czech, s.r.o., producer of car A/C condensers, was established on August 6th, 1997, as a 100% subsidiary of the Japanese Showa Aluminium Corporation. The establishment of the subsidiary in the Czech Republic came as a reaction to a fast growing demand for car air conditioning among European producers, such as Volkswagen, Audi, Saab, Mitsubishi Europe, General Motors, and Suzuki, who prefer regional suppliers of components. In April 1998, the production plant construction was started in the Kladno – South industrial zone. The construction was finished in October 1998, and mass production started in February 1999.
In March 2001, the Showa Aluminium Corporation merged with a Japanese concern Showa Denko K.K, thereby creating a new company, Showa Denko K.K. This company forms a world wide network of producers operating in five major industrial spheres, namely in petrochemistry, chemistry, electronics, production of inorganic materials, and in aluminium processing, operating on the main four world markets – in Japan, Asia, the U.S.A., and Europe.
Thanks to its strategic position, the Czech Republic became a European centre of Showa Denko K.K. condenser production, where Showa Aluminium Czech, s.r.o. functions as the only plant of the concern producing the car A/C condensers.
